The lifeless body of a man was found this week floating in the water off Santa Catalina Pier in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The man is reported to be about 33 years of age and who died from drowning, but the causes of this are still unknown.
Maritime Rescue personnel recovered the victim from the water, and once on land, staff from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) attended the victim, but could only confirm his death. Other personnel involved in this incident included agents of the Policia Nacional, Port Authority and Guardia Civil.
