A 78-year-old woman of German nationality was rescued this week after she was injured when hiking in an area of Haria that is steep and difficult to access.
The Emergency Response team took charge of this situation by transferring the wounded hiker by helicopter to the airport on the island, where an ambulance was waiting to take her to the Doctor Jose Molina Hospital in the capital. She was later diagnosed with trauma to her leg.
This accident occurred on the descent to the beach of Risco de Haria, and the emergency response team included members of the Consortium for Security, Emergency, Salvage, Fire Prevention and Extinction of Lanzarote, Policia Local, Guardia Civil and Civil Protection agents.
