A boat with 33 migrants on board, including 18 children, was intercepted and rescued about 12 nautical miles north of the island of Lanzarote.
During the late morning, a fishing vessel contacted the Salvamento Maritimo or lifeboat service to report the location of the migrant boat near to Haria.
Then, a Salvamento Maritimo rescue boat and a patrol boat of the Fishing Reserve of the island of La Graciosa were sent to the location of this migrant boat, where all those on board were rescued, and reported to be initially in good health.
These migrants were then transferred to the Port of Naos in Arrecife during the late afternoon. The supporting services also included the Red Cross, Arrecife Policia Nacional, Policia Local, Guardia Civil Patrol and Border Agents of Costa Teguise.
