The residents of La Graciosa this week could not hide their excitement that the State Government of Spain has finally recognised that their island is the eighth inhabited island of the Canary Islands.
These residents came together to celebrate this recognition, but also to appreciate the political efforts that have led to this new statute.
They said that this recognition comes after decades of struggle and actions to achieve this special event.
