This week, ten ‘influencers’ from the United Kingdom and Germany, who are experts in the promotion of agricultural and food products, visited Fuerteventura.
This visit of experts was arranged by Proexca, the Canarian outdoor promotion society, to promote more widely the unique and exceptional foods of local gastronomy.
The Councillor for Tourism of the Municipality of Pajara, Fares Sosa, and the Manager of the Insular Tourism Board, Moises Jorge, welcomed and presented these expert ‘influencers’ with cheese from the La Pastora Chees Factory, La Pared, which is recognised with the Silver Medal of Cheese Awards.
Fares Sosa said “This initiative is important, because the products of our land will become more widely known, and many of these are of high quality, but still unknown.”
The Mayor of Pajara said “We are grateful for the help of the Fuerteventura Tourist Board in organising this event, and the expert ‘influencers’ have been given promotional material for the island with the purpose of advertising their holiday offers and promoting native products to customers in the UK and Germany. These are the two countries that form most of the tourist industry for Fuerteventura.”
This promotional food product event involved the cooperation of the City Council of Pajara, R2 Hotels, Maxorata Cheese, the Mill of Tiscamanita, belonging to the Network of Museums of the Government of Fuerteventura, and the aloe vera company Avisa of Tiscamanita.
