An Iberia Express plane had to land at Gran Canaria airport due to technical problems. The aircraft, which left Fuerteventura Airport early had been scheduled to land at Madrid Airport at 11.00.
After landing safely at Gran Canaria Airport, passengers had to wait for several hours to board another plane for them to continue their journey to Madrid.
This is the fourth plane from this low-cost Spanish company that has had to return to its origin or make an unscheduled stop due to technical problems.
Gran Canaria Airport reported that technicians believe there was a hydraulic failure that forced the aircraft that left Fuerteventura to land at Gran Canaria at around 08.00 for safety reasons.
These passengers eventually took off for Madrid at 13.00 later that day after being booked onto another flight.
