Adopt a Pet in Fuerteventura

Adopt a Pet in FuerteventuraFuerteventura has launched a website for residents to report any pet they have lost and for those who want to adopt a pet animal.

From now on, all lost or abandoned dogs in Antigua, Pajara, Betancuria and Tuineje that arrive at the kennel at La Pared will be included in real time on the municipal website. This website has been operating in Puerto del Rosario for the last few weeks.

The objective is that local residents can use the website to search for animals for adoption, share cases of lost animals or find their own missing pets.

This initiative has been driven by the website platform loales.org that operates with the Government of Fuerteventura, and lists all homeless animals on its website.

The goal is to guarantee animal welfare and responsible ownership. This is a very useful venture, especially when more dogs are lost as a result of firework displays, and when many are bought as Christmas gifts that are later abandoned in Fuerteventura.
