Helicopter Rescues Driver Trapped in Car in Tenerife

A 63-year-old man was seriously injured after falling with his vehicle into a ravine in the south of Tenerife, and was trapped inside his vehicle. He notified emergency services from inside his vehicle, but could not report his exact location.

The operational room of the 112 emergency services in Tenerife managed to identify the location of the injured man from the conversation with him and data from his mobile phone, which turned out to be a ravine in the neighbourhood of Ricasa in Adeje.

After sending emergency services to the location of the accident, firefighters secured the vehicle, freed the driver and move him to a place where an ambulance transferred him to a medicalised helicopter, which then flew him to the University Hospital of Our Lady of the Candelaria.
