Lanzarote now has a new fire station in the south of the island. The new infrastructure will serve three municipalities and in this way, it covers a need that for a long time, residents and firefighters have been demanding.
In recent years, with the demographic growth experienced by the island, the needs for firefighting resources were multiplying.
The new fire station is located in the old Casa del Medico de Uga, which has been restored. In the upper part are the bedrooms, the kitchen, the services and the gym, and the lower floor is intended for offices.
In the annex to this fire station, a garage has been built to house the firefighting truck with a capacity of 3,000 m3 of water, a 4x4 and a jet ski. This fire station will have a permanent crew of 3 firefighters.
