From last Saturday, a new ferry route started to connect the port of Valle Gran Rey in La Gomera with Los Cristianos in Tenerife by the Naviera Armas Company. The Alboran will be the ship that connects the port of Vueltas in Valle Gran Rey with Tenerife, but with also one stop at the port of San Sebastian de la Gomera during weekdays.
This ferry service currently offers two connections a day, and the longest route from Vueltas to Los Cristianos will take around 90 minutes. The Alboran ferry can carry 260 cars and 878 passengers, and has a top speed of 35 knots.
This new ferry route is a great boost to the economy of La Gomera, and it improves connections with Valle Gran Rey, which is one of the most important tourist municipalities on the island. So this meets the demands of local residents for better ferry connections and the needs of tourists to reach their destination more quickly.
