El Mar de las Calmas continues to benefit from world wide popularity for diving in La Restinga, which has become the base port for the activity.
Recent data shows that La Restinga is 90% occupied, with the majority of the diving centres remaining open for most of the year. Although the summer is over, the occupancy rate remains practically the same as in the month of August.
It is common to see groups of divers walking through the streets while they wait to perform their next dive. It is not surprising that this beautiful and fascinating seascape is the meeting place for enthusiasts of underwater at photographic events, such as the Fotosub.
