A 76-year-old man died and five people were injured in a frontal collision of two vehicles in the Municipality of Teguise in Lanzarote this week.
A call to the 112 Emergency Response Centre alerted local responders to this accident that involved one of these vehicles rolling over. Police and ambulance teams were quickly at the scene of the accident, and provided first aid to the injured, and others were transferred to the Doctor Jose Molina Orosa Hospital for greater life support treatments.
Fire officers found the deceased inside the vehicle, and he could not be resuscitated. He had been trapped inside the vehicle and the body had to be removed after cutting metal parts that had trapped him. The road was then cleaned and the damaged vehicles removed from the scene of the accident.
