Early this week, officers of the Guardia Civil and firefighters responded to calls that identified the body of a man on the beach at Varadero in Tenerife. The police report that this was a 76-year-old man from the Municipality of La Laguna who often walked to the area of Varadero between Tabaiba and Barranco Hondo to fish.
It seems that the man left his home at 18.30 to make his regular journey to fish, but suffered a heart attack. Emergency Response Centre 112 received a call to alert the discovery of body of this man, but it was not possible to resuscitate the victim, and at 21.00 the body was removed from the beach. No further information about this man has been released.
