Storm winds and massive waves have forced the Canary Islands Government to declare an alert for coastal phenomena for all the islands, which has resulted in two shipping companies that operate between Lanzarote and La Graciosa cancelling all scheduled ferry trips.
There are normally 8 daily connections to connect the island of La Graciosa to Lanzarote, but the company hopes to resume these important ferry connections as soon as the weather conditions improve.
The Government Meteorological Agency issued warnings this week about waves reaching 5 and 6 meters in height in the north of Lanzarote, and maximum gusts of wind of around 80 kilometres per hour, particularly in high areas and southeast slopes.
