Demand for holiday rentals continues to rise in the Canary Islands, and in 2017 it stood at around 9% of the total number of tourists choosing these islands for their holidays.
Over 130,000 people used the services of the Airbnb Internet sit last year to stay in holiday homes in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (70,000) and Arona in Tenerife (60,000) according to the data released this week by the company in the USA.
Airbnb reports that last year over 8.1 million travellers from 150 countries used its services to book rental homes in Spain.
For the Canary Islands, this data reflects two different scenarios with the most populated city of these islands, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and one on the most important tourist destinations in the south of Tenerife, Arona.
