River of Sewage in Lanzarote

River of Sewage in Lanzarote

This week a culvert overflowed on the road to Los Marmoles at the entrance to Castillo de San Jose in Arrecife, which caused a large tide of sewage to cover the road. Firefighters and agents of the water authority had to quickly intervene to clear the road.

According to first reports, this overflow was thought to be caused by the overflow of a well, as a result of uncontrolled dumping that could have caused this river of sewage.

The water authority has now opened an investigation to clarify what was the reason for causing this event.
