This week the Government of Tenerife celebrated its annual Africa Day on 25 May with a day of culture, fashion and gastronomy with free activities in the Tenerife Espacio de las Artes (TEA).
This day was organised with an objective to promote intercultural dialogue as a way to strengthen the economic, social and cultural relations of Tenerife with those of other countries.
Delia Herrera, Minister for Foreign Action accompanied by an African representation explained that this day is important was it commemorates the establishment of the African Union (AU), which is an engine of development of a series of regional organisations that reflect Africa’s desire to consolidate its values of lasting peace, respect for human rights, good administration of public affairs and sustainable development.
