The Telephone of Hope, a non-government organisation that has operated since 2010 in Tenerife, has this week inaugurated new headquarters in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
This Telephone of Hope annually receives an average of 4700 calls related to all types of situations from anxiety and loneliness to abuse. Its mission is to address the emotional health of local residents, and especially of people in situations of individual, family or psycho-social crisis.
This telephone support service is available 24 hours a day and is attended mostly by volunteers. In addition, being aware of the importance of prevention, the organisation holds courses, workshops, training and self-help groups, seminars and conferences to promote health care.
In addition, the Telephone of Hope offers specific training to those people who have a strong motivation to lend a hand to others in situations of emotional crisis and who wish to develop their own qualities and skills for helping others.
