The Guardia Civil reported this week that it is investigating 20 companies dedicated to take tourists on boat trips to see whales and dolphins across the south of Tenerife. Over 700,000 tourists each year book this type of excursion when on holiday, which is why controls have increased on the boats dedicated to this activity.
Agents of the Provincial Maritime Service of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the Underwater Activities Group and the Customs, Tax and Borders Patrol of Playa de Las Americas have been coordinating these new controls in Adeje, Arona, Santiago del Teide and Guia de Isora, where they are continuing their investigations to ensure boat companies meet all legal requirements.
