The ferry Volcan de Taburiente operated by Naviera Armas, which covers the route between La Palma, Tenerife and La Gomera, suffered a breakdown this week.
This problem is reported to have related to a breakdown of the cooling system on the ferry, but the company reports that this problem was repaired by engineers, and at no time was the ferry left adrift on the ocean.
The 200 passengers who were travelling on this ferry were later able to disembark at La Palma safely, but a little later than planned.
It is also reported by Naviera Armas that the Volcan de Taburiente is now operating its ferry service normally.
