Man in Tenerife Arrested for Armed Robberies

A 27-year-old man this week was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of four robberies committed in shops in the San Benito area of La Laguna in Tenerife, in which the accused threatened the shop staff with a knife of large dimensions, reported by the Nacional Police.

The detainee has been identified with the initials I.H.D. and the victims of the robberies were employees of four establishments, when 3,700 euros in total was stolen.

The detained man is a Spanish citizen who has ‘numerous’ police records, but police report that the money has not been recovered, because he spent it on hotel accommodation, but was left with no items of value to repay the shops.
