The City of Santa Cruz de Tenerife announced this week it will grant licences to demolish three old houses in the downtown area of Miraflores, and reported by the Municipal Management of Urbanism.
Generally, the Government of Tenerife supports the restoration of old buildings and opposes demolition of buildings of historical interest, but the Municipal Management of Urbanism said that heritage reports confirm that these three properties lack any heritage value.
The local Heritage Association is demanding that efforts are made to take into account how new constructions will be integrated into the redevelopment project of this area.
