The National Institute of Statistics (INE) this week reported that the price of new homes and second hand homes continues to rise throughout the Canary Islands, but also throughout all regions of Spain.
Across the Canary Islands, there was a 2.8% increase in the price of homes in the first six months of 2018, compared to the previous year in the same period.
In Spain as a whole, prices rose by 6.8% in the second quarter of the year, and in the Canary Islands home prices rose by almost 6%. Specifically, in the Canary Islands, in the second quarter of the year home prices increased by 5.9% compared to the same period last year.
Also, if comparisons are made for the first three months of this year in the Canary Islands, prices of homes increased by 1.9%. However, these price increases related more to second-hand homes, where rates increased by around 3%.
