The number of migrants arriving by boat in Lanzarote raised to 15, after others were later found that added to the 11 discovered in the boat.
Police organised a search for those missing from the wooden boat about six metres long, and first sighted during the afternoon between the beach of Papagayo and Punta Gorda, which was thought to have transported up to 20 people.
Members of Yaiza Policia Local, Maritime Rescue and Lanzarote Firefighters worked together to search and identify these migrants, and to provide them with health checks. One migrant was diagnosed with hypoglycaemia and was transferred to a local health centre.
