El Hierro residents travelling by ferry to Tenerife have often been inconvenienced by waiting for a connecting bus to transport them to hospitals or government offices, or for shopping in Santa Cruz de Tenerife that is some distance away. However, this week the bus service between Los Cristianos where the El Hierro ferry docks and Santa Cruz de Tenerife has changed its bus schedule to match the arrival and departure times of the Naviera Armas ferry following agreement between the ferry company and El Hierro Government.
Previously, this bus service was only available on Fridays and Sundays, but now this bus service to connect with the capital city of Tenerife is extended to all days, except Saturdays that link with the El Hierro ferry arriving at Los Cristianos port.
Passengers can also reserve a place on the bus when buying the ticket. This now meets a demand from users, and especially those who use the ferry without a vehicle, and this bus has advertising with features of El Hierro as a tourist destination.
