Council Tax in La Gomera Reduced

Council Tax in La Gomera Reduced

The City Council of San Sebastian de La Gomera announced this week that the IBI or Impuesto de Bienes Inmuebles based on catastral property values, which UK residents would describe as a Council Tax, will be reduced by 4% on average.

This welcome reduction of IBI has been welcomed by the residents of La Gomera, and has been the result of updating the taxable values or catastral of local properties that the island government asked for.

This measure also adds to the subsidies that are granted to families with scarce economic resources within the municipality.
