The Guardia Civil reports that it is searching for two men in Tenerife this week after a jewellery shop in La Orotava was reportedly robbed in the middle of the night.
The robbers are reported to have been hooded and armed with tools that they used to break the outer door of this shop. These robbers were shown on CCTV monitors to appear to wait before entering the shop, and the owner says that they could have been waiting for the alarm to sound or to see if security forces appeared, and the jewellery shop is close to offices of the Policia Local and Guardia Civil. The alarm is reported not to have sounded, and the hooded robbers entered the building and in less than 2 minutes they took away all the gold jewellery that was inside the shop.
The Guardia Civil is now using the images from the security cameras inside the shop, and the shop owner claims that the theft of gold jewellery amounts to more than 50,000 euros, and all stolen within 89 seconds!
