The Government of La Gomera announced this week that a new passenger terminal will be constructed at Puerto de Vueltas in Valle Gran Rey to respond to the huge increase in cruise ship tourism in recent years.
This need for improvements is also due to the sudden increase in vehicle and passenger ferries using this port since the end of 2017, when Naviera Armas and Fred Olsen ferry companies began operations.
This project for a new passenger terminal will also provide the area with new car parks, new lanes for embarkation and disembarkation of passengers and vehicles, as well as new lighting and landscaped areas.
This project will also involve the construction of storage facilities for local fishermen for their equipment.
