The President of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, said this week that he is satisfied with the new budget allocated to the Canary Islands, despite the application to increase the discount for residents to travel to the Peninsular to 75%, which has not been accepted.
Fernando Clavijo also said that he expected to ‘correct’ the exclusion of the 75% discount for ferry and air flight passengers to the Peninsular in the future. It seems that the new state budget project for the Canary Islands will be 1567 million euros.
The President clarified that other aspects should be reviewed in the budget, but that he was ‘surprised’ to note that the increased discount for Canary Islands residents to travel to the Peninsular did not appear in this budget.
