Four people have been arrested this week in La Palma for allegedly distributing cocaine. This investigation by the Guardia Civil began in November last year, when an 18-year-old girl arrived in La Palma from Barcelona, and was found to be carrying a quantity of cocaine.
This girl is believed to have been the leader of this criminal organisation, and attempted to run away when police officers arrived to arrest her, but she was eventually arrested in the municipality of Los Llanos de Aridane.
It is reported that this leader had instructed all members of the group and assigned them specific tasks, as well as providing them with a flat in Tenerife, which would serve as a stopover for the reception of the drug from the Peninsula.
This leader is also alleged to have been in direct charge of negotiating with her cocaine supplier, and moved the drugs to Tenerife, and then transferred these to La Palma by ferry.
The judicial authority has ordered that these four people will be detained without bail awaiting trial.
