This week saw keen cyclists with their dogs gathering at La Esperanza in Tenerife for the first Bikejoring race held in the Canary Islands.
Bikejoring is a sport that encourages cyclists to enjoy their sporting passion with their dogs, so that they can enjoy racing together.
This charitable race was organised to raise money for the Association for the Protection of Animals in Tenerife, Apanot, and their animal refuge in the northeast of Tenerife at Icod de los Vinos.
Many local people turned out to support this cause and to give a great reception to the cyclists and dogs who turned up to race. Those who witnessed this first Bikejoring race had to chance to meet with Igor Tracz, the multi-champion of this race of the world and Europe.
